Teens Wheel Throwing

Got a teen who is keen to throw, spin, and create?

We're so thrilled to launch this wheel-throwing class on Wednesdays from 5:00 - 6:30pm! It is perfect for teens who want to dive into the art of wheel thrown pottery.

Whether they've had a go at a workshop or not, our talented instructor will guide the course and adapt it to the skill level of the participants. We aim to have everyone grow and have fun at their own pace! 

Across the term, they’ll learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing, from prepping clay to glazing the finished pieces.

Each week introduces new techniques to help master the wheel and create mugs, bowls, vases, and more. The final class is dedicated to glazing, to experiment with our in-house glazes to put that perfect finishing touch on the creations!

What You Will Learn:

• Wheel-throwing basics, including centering and shaping clay
• Different throwing techniques and forms 
• How to create and decorate a variety of shapes
• Glazing techniques using our in-house glaze collection

What’s Included:

• Clay, tools, and all firing included
• Aprons provided for use during class
• Up to 5kg of glaze firing included (extra firing charged at $12 per kg)

What to Bring:

• Clothes that can get messy
• Your imagination and creative ideas!
• Short nails will make it easier to work on the wheel

This class is a great way to unwind, get messy, and let your creativity flow in a fun, supportive environment. By the end of the term, you’ll be amazed at what you’ve created!

This course is designed for ages 13 - 17 year olds

We need a minimum of 4 participants to run the class, and if we don’t reach this number, we’ll refund or transfer your booking to another date.
